What is “CBRF?”
CBRF is an acronym for Community Based Residential Facility.
How does my loved one qualify for a CBRF?
A call to the marketing office or social worker for the community will put the process in motion. They will contact our nurse and she will schedule an assessment. Following the assessment (which may be performed in your home or wherever is convenient) a determination for admission will be made. We are licensed as a CBRF/Memory support. A few examples of admission criteria would be: age 62 or older, dementia diagnosis, and the ability to ambulate. Each potential resident is assessed for their specific needs.
Is the CBRF secure for those residents that may wander?
Yes – All exit doors are alarmed with delayed egress opening. What that means is the door alarms when someone pushes on the door. If they push the door for approximately 4-9 seconds it will open, but the nursing staff will have been alerted in enough time to check the door and resident. If a resident is wearing a pendant, the elevator will not activate and an alarm will sound to also alert staff.
