Does Eastcastle Place offer Respite Care?

YES. A care-giver can take a break or “respite” and our assisted living staff will take over and provide all personal care services including a furnished apartment, meals, medication management, transportation, even provide a personal trainer for the fitness and swimming pool areas. Some residents take advantage of the program when discharged from a rehabilitation center. Not yet confident enough to stay alone, they spend a week in assisted living. The apartment setting helps them to transition back to their own home.

Is there an admission requirement for assisted living?

Prior to admission, our nurse must conduct a personal assessment to verify that we can provide the necessary care needed while here.

Are all assisted living apartments furnished?

NO. Although some appliance items (kitchen microwave and refrigerator) and some amenities (window blinds, cable TV and most utilities) are included, all residents move in their own kitchen, living room and bedroom furniture and other essentials.

Are all assisted living places alike?

NO. We consider our assisted living to be the perfect balance between independence and on going support. Everyone receives basic services (prepared meals, housekeeping, transportation to doctor appointments and stores) and additional wellness services can also be purchased (medication management, daily bed making, laundry, assistance with a shower) however we want all residents to have the time to pursue their interests and enjoy this beautiful community.

Do activities cost extra?

YES and NO. When a trip is planned to the symphony, museum or a restaurant then you’ll pay the entrance fee and your personal food bill, but if we’re bringing an entertainer, musician, storyteller or educational lecturer to the community, then it’s on us; just sit back, relax and enjoy. We also provide many daily activities to help you fill your free time, free of charge.
