Eastcastle Place traces its establishment back to 1884 by a group of publicly spirited women who became interested in the needs of Ms. Elizabeth Trevor Thomas, a retired school teacher. Those women created a home where seniors could age in comfort and with confidence. Ms. Thomas was the first resident, and by the end of 1885, there were 12 other residents as well– thus The Thomas Tradition was born.

The Thomas Tradition is the Future Resident Club for those interested in Eastcastle Place. The Thomas Tradition offers two options: the Esser Society and the Koch Society. Once enrolled in either society, members are afforded special privileges and access so they can start to experience and enjoy life at Eastcastle Place.

FAQ

Life Plan Communities are senior living communities that provide several lifestyle options, so you can choose the one that fits your needs and the way you want to live. This includes a range of services, amenities, wellness programs and activities, all designed to help you stay healthy and independent for as long as possible. Most importantly, Life Plan Communities provide residents with access to several levels of care at fees significantly lower than market rates. As your health needs change, you have the appropriate level of support. At Eastcastle, we offer independent living, assisted living, memory support, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing. Because we offer a Type B contract, you only pay for the services you use, and you get a $60,000 credit toward future on-site care.

The one-time entrance fee is an upfront sum to prepay some of the costs that come with offering access to continuing care for life. It also ensures priority access to several levels of continuing care, in case you ever need it. At Eastcastle, your entrance fee is based on the size of residence you choose and the number of occupants.

Yes! We know how important furry family members are, so we welcome well-behaved pets. Please ask a marketing team member about size restrictions.

In addition to monthly fees, residents pay for their own telephone service, medications, therapies, outside medical bills and personal expenses. Residents are charged for additional dining room meals beyond their monthly dining allocation.

Of course! We offer surface parking as well as heated underground parking (an additional $50 per month). Free outside parking is available for all residents and guests.

Eastcastle is a not-for-profit corporation formed under the laws of the state of Wisconsin. The community retains an executive director as part of its partnership with Life Care Services® to manage Eastcastle’s day-to-day operations.

The IRS has ruled that a portion of the entrance fee is tax-deductible as a future continuing care cost in the year you pay it. All care provided in the Health and Rehabilitation Center can be deductible as well. Discuss all tax considerations with your own tax professional.
