A Warm Welcome and Outstanding Support: One Couple’s Eastcastle Experience
When moving into a new community, it’s the small moments of care, service, and connection that truly make a place feel like home. For one Eastcastle Place couple, their experience settling in around the holidays was made all the more memorable thanks to the exceptional support of our maintenance team. Their story highlights not only the skill of our staff, but the genuine kindness and dedication that defines life at Eastcastle Place.
We moved to Eastcastle in November 2024, just two days before Thanksgiving, and have been very happy with our new community. One of the best things (of many) about Eastcastle is the maintenance staff. They are incredible!
On the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, they came by to install our wall-mounted TVs. Unfortunately, I had left an interior light on in our car the day before, and the battery was dead. When Michael heard this, he immediately offered to jump-start the battery. I said, “But you’re in the middle of something,” and he replied that he and Justin would get back to it afterward. The jump worked, and I was so grateful.
Before Michael left our apartment—once the TVs were up and running—he asked if there was anything else he could do. (We’ve since learned this is a typical response from the maintenance team!) During the move, the latch for the pendulum on our grandfather clock had fallen off. We had tried, without success, to reattach it. Once again, Michael came to our rescue. He figured out how to open the clock and secure the hook and pendulum.
To name just a few more examples: the maintenance team has helped us hang artwork, install our dining room chandelier with the perfect hook that Michael “found in the workroom,” add bathroom grab bars, install dimmer switches, assemble a freestanding kitchen storage cabinet, level the refrigerator, hang new window shades, and more.
Kind and talented, they are simply the best!
