At Eastcastle Place, our transitional living residents thrive in an atmosphere of warmth, connection, and joy. Much of that spirit is fostered by our dedicated activity coordinator, Kim Garcia, who has been enriching lives here since moving to Wisconsin three years ago.
Kim first learned about Eastcastle Place through a friend’s recommendation, and she immediately knew it would be the right fit. “You get more personal with our residents and really get to meet them in their world,” Kim shares. That philosophy guides her daily work, helping residents feel seen, valued, and celebrated.
Building Meaningful Connections
Kim finds great joy in creating moments that matter. One resident has saved every art piece she’s made with Kim, proudly displaying them in her room and cherishing the memories tied to each creation. These experiences aren’t just activities—they’re core memories that bring comfort and joy.
Family Fun Days
Kim also helped spearhead the inception of Family Fun Days, now a monthly tradition at Eastcastle Place. These gatherings bring residents and their loved ones together, fostering deeper connections and offering families a chance to support one another in meaningful ways.
Enriching Programs
Our transitional living residents enjoy a variety of engaging therapies:
- Music therapy twice weekly
- Art therapy led by professional facilitators
- Occupational, speech, or physical therapies onsite
These programs encourage self-expression, creativity, and emotional well-being.
Outings That Spark Joy
Another hallmark of Eastcastle Place is our twice-weekly outings to Milwaukee’s local spots and suburban neighborhoods. These trips spark wonderful memories and provide opportunities for residents to reconnect with places that hold personal meaning. One resident especially enjoys the downtown bus rides, reminiscing about his old office with its sweeping view of Milwaukee.
