The grand opening event celebrating the Eastcastle Place expansion was a roaring success! Our 1920s Great Gatsby-inspired party had a great turnout. More than 250 guests, including residents, staff, and board members, arrived dressed to the nines. It was truly a night to remember and the perfect way to welcome in a new era for East Side senior living in Milwaukee.
“In the 1920s, we made a huge update to Eastcastle Place,” explains Tyler Gudex, Executive Director, “Our most recent update has taken place in the 2020s. We chose this theme because it was the perfect parallel to show our history, growth, and the link that carries us from 1884 to the present day. We care as deeply about our past as we do our future.”
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, attendees enjoyed live jazz music, delicious hors d’oeuvres, refreshing drinks, and great conversation.
While festivities continued throughout the community, attendees enjoyed tours of the brand-new spaces, which included:
- 30 independent living apartments (17 two-bedroom apartments and 13 one-bedroom apartments)
- The 1884: the stunning new bar and lounge, and grab-and-go bistro
- A renovated fitness center
- New multipurpose spaces for gathering and life-enrichment opportunities
The 1884 bar and lounge is the perfect destination for residents, whether to enjoy a cup of coffee and a newspaper in the morning, to eat lunch with friends, or to bend the elbow at happy hour.
Additionally, assisted living and memory care also received comprehensive renovations, ensuring these important care services thrive for our residents. New activities and lounge spaces provide plenty of opportunities to socialize and stay engaged. Residents of both assisted living and memory care enjoy the 24-hour personalized support and assistance and robust amenities for which Eastcastle Place is known.
